Taming the Email Monster

More Control. Less Stress.

This session helps busy professionals create more – and higher-quality – capacity for strategic priorities by strengthening how they clarify what matters, plan their time, and stay focused when everything feels urgent.

Also available in a Leader’s Version with added focus on strategic leadership priorities, coaching teams, and modeling productive work practices.

This workshop will help busy, time-crunched people:

  • Create more high-quality space in their week for strategic priorities – without simply working longer hours.
See a clearer connection between how they’re spending their time day to day with the strategic priorities and goals that matter most this year.
  • Feel more confident that they are working on the right things – reducing second-guessing and overwhelm.

Made relevant, practical and engaging:

  • Content is adapted for your organization and participants’ real-world priorities and pressures.
  • Participants connect with one another, share perspectives, and explore practical ways to apply the ideas in their real work.
  • AI has enormous potential to support the practices explored in this session. Where appropriate, we can incorporate examples using your organization’s approved AI tools and policies.

In this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Apply the Capacity Creation Framework — six conditions that help create more space for strategic priorities, improve alignment, and build confidence about what deserves attention.
  • Use a Priority Map to create a simple priority dashboard so key priorities stay visible, clear, and less likely to get crowded out by reactive work.
  • Use the Three Planning Pauses — monthly, weekly, and daily — to ensure that bigger goals actually show up in day-to-day work.
  • Pay priorities first by using weekly planning and real-world time-blocking strategies to create more high-quality space for strategic work.
  • Build in buffer room and anticipate likely derailers so the week is planned for reality, not perfection.
  • Assess where their current planning habits are strong — and where gaps exist — then identify practical next steps to improve consistency.

Available as a three-hour in-person session, a 90–120 minute virtual session, or as part of a short learning series delivered over multiple sessions.
